Hotel Heydalur is located in the beautiful valley of Heydalur, around 320 km from Reykjavík and 130 km from Ísafjörður. The hotel offers 59 beds in 19 rooms (all with private WC) as well as three summer cottages.

The hotel restaurant is renowned for its delicious, local food which is served in the old barn.

The hotel also operates a campsite (open from June 1 until the end of October) with warm showers, flushing toilets and ample electricity plugs for RVs and trailers.

Heydalur has recently been nominated as the best bathing site in the Westfjords area. Near the hotel you will find two outdoor, geothermal hot tubs, as well as a small pool inside a tropical greenhouse. On the other side of the river Heydalsá you will find yet another natural hot tub.

The opportunities for recreation and activities are almost endless. The hotel has a playground for children and youth, but also offers guided kayaking and horse riding tours that are suitable for most people. There are numerous hiking routes available, birdwatching is excellent during summer and freshwater fishing is also possible. During winter, visitors can enjoy snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and, of course, the magic of the northern lights.

Dalahyttur is a family run company and offers 9 double rooms.

There are three 15m2 tiny houses. Each house consists of sleeping area with double bed 160 cm, a kitchenette, dining area, a bathroom with a shower, WiFi and car parking for each house.

We also have six 20m2 double rooms in three houses. Every room has a separate entrance, 160 cm bed, sofa, bathroom with shower, armchair, kettle, coffee and tea, WiFi and free parking for each room.

Reception and a restaurant are located in a renovated Quonset house at our premises. From the hut you can enjoy beautiful mountain view over three valleys. In total darkness, late at night in the winter, it is nice to sit inside or outside on the patio and watch the Aurora Borealis when they appear.

Dalahyttur is centrally located in the west part of Iceland and the southern part of the Westfjords.

Dalakot is a small guesthouse in an old house that has hosted guests since the mid-20th century. In 2013 the young couple Anna Sigríður Grétarsdóttir and Pálmi Jóhannsson bought the guesthouse and gave it the name Dalakot. Since then they have worked hard on renovation of the house and the garden and they are still working.

The guesthouse has 9 rooms with accommodation for 19 people. They also have a small house by the beach that sleeps 6 people and is suitable for smaller groups or a family.

A restaurant and a bar is also located in the house where pizzas and hamburgers are the main dishes of the menu but also offers a few specials. Open daily from 12:00 to 21:00.

Hotel Ísafjörður is a modern and comfortable hotel in the heart of Ísafjörður, the capital of the Westfjords with 36 double rooms. All the rooms are non-smoking and have private shower, TV, coffee/tea making facilities and free internet access. The hotel has a fully licenced restaurant with a fabulous view over the harbour where guests can enjoy a wide selection of seafood as well as other dishes. The hotel has well equipped conference facilities for meetings and conferece.

Edinborg- Bistro is the place to go whether you want the taste of the Icelandic food culture, get some coffee and cake, or simply enjoying a cold one on the side. Then Edinburgh Bistro - Cafe - Bar is the place to enjoy.

Hótel Flókalundur is a small family-run hotel in Vatnsfjörður, on the south coast of the Westfjords. The hotel was built in 1966 by the Local Region Association Barðstrendingafélagið, but prior to that, a restaurant was in operation on this location since 1961 and Vatnsfjörður has always been a popular visiting place for tourists in the area.

Hotel Flokalundur has 27 single or double bedrooms and one suite. All rooms are equipped with a bathroom.

All rooms are fully furnished and breakfast is included in the price.

One room is accessible by wheelchair.

A small Restaurant is located at Hotel Flokalundur and is open every day from 7:30 till 23:00 for all guests in the area.

A Breakfast Buffet is served from 07:30 till 10:00.

Lunch is served from 11:00 till 14:00 where the Meal of the Day is available, along with a menu of small dishes that can be ordered through the whole day.

Dinner is served off the Dinner Menu from 18:00 till 21:00 with emphasis on fresh seafood, local game and other meat dishes. The Restaurants offers a selection of alcoholic beverages. The bar is open until 23:00.

The Camping Site, with it's beautiful view over the fjord, is situated close to the Hotel.

On the Camping Site there is ample space for tents and camping trailers.

There is access to electricity and in a Facility Hut there are WC, hot and cold water faucets, showers and facilities for dishwashing.

The Camping Site is open from June 15th till September 10th.

Next to the hotel we have a small fuel station (automatic pumps) and a minimarket that is open between 11:00 and 18:00 during the summer.

Dalahotel is a family owned hotel located in a beautiful, quiet valley, only 1 km from highway 60. The place is famous for its antiquity, Guðrún Ósvífursdóttir lived there, who was one of the main characters in Icelanders' Sagas. The hotel is located at the foot of a mountain where you can enjoy untouched nature with a number of hiking trails suitable for everyone. At the end of the day you can relax in the hot tubs and swimming pool, where the hot water is obtained from a borehole that is located in the hotel building area.

Stúkuhúsið café/restaurant has a great location in the middle of the town Patreksfjordur, right next to the pool.

The view from Stúkuhúsið is stunning, overlooking the fjord.

Available is soup of the day with freshly baked bread. Homemade cakes, espresso coffee and delicious local food.

Vestur restaurant is a family restaurant in Patreksfjörður that offers a variety of dishes, including soup, hamburgers, pizza, salad, tacos and more. We focus on using fresh, local ingredients as much as possible. We hava a bar and show football games and other sport events.

Accommodation offered in 16 standard twin and double rooms, 8 junior suites and 4 superior king rooms. Furthermore a cozy restaurant, living room, hot tub and sauna.

Fisherman Hotel offers well equipped accommodation: Single rooms, double rooms and family rooms with or without private facilities. Bathrooms are positioned on all floors close to the rooms without private facilities. Wireless Internet connection is available free of charge. Please note that all rooms are a non-smoking environment. During the summer our coffee house is open where you can get food, cakes and more.

All our hotel guests get our Seafood Trail free of charge during the summertime. The Fisherman Seafood Trail, the company trademark and a guided tour, gives a unique experience of slow travel.

FLAK is a house of arts, a cultural orientated pub and fish-soup restaurant at Patreksfjörður harbour in the Icelandic West Fjords. Join us for some snacks and home brewed beer and you might even catch a live concert or something else from our busy event calendar.

Hotel Flatey is situated in the centre of the old village on Flatey, in the very heart of Breiðafjörður. The houses in the old centre are timber structures dating from the island's former times of prosperity, and most of them have been restored in their original style.

Hotel Flatey now offers 7 double/twin rooms, 2 family room (3 persons), 3 suites and 2 single rooms. In total 12 rooms with 23 beds. All rooms are with shared facilities. Breakfast is included in the price.

The hotel's dining room and guest rooms are in converted warehouses flanking the old market square. Guests can savour the unique ambience of the island in cosy and welcoming accommodation and enjoy choice food with a view over the village, the coastline and the nesting grounds of the arctic terns in Skansmýri.

The Leif Eiriksson center is an exciting destination for all ages, where stories of the voyages of Erik the Red and his son Leif the Lucky (also called Leifur Eiríksson), discovering parts of Greenland, Canada and the US, are presented in a new exhibition, consisting of works from ten renowned Icelandic visual artists. An audio guide will lead you through the history as you view the magical world of the exhibition. Afterwards you can enjoy a quick bite to eat or some good coffee on the ground floor.

Ghosts, trolls and sorcerers

To Icelanders the Strandir region is wrapped in an aura of mystery. According to lore it's not only home to ghosts, elves and trolls, but many thought witchcraft was rampant here, used for both good and evil.
Hotel Laugarholl is a peaceful and comfortable family-run country hotel located in the green and sparsely populated valley Bjarnarfjordur, perfectly situated for exploring the remote and beautiful wilderness of mysterious Strandir.

We have single, double and triple rooms with private or shared facilities, a cosy living room with free internet access and a restaurant with special emphasis on fresh and tasty homemade local food as well as global cuisine.

Next to the hotel you will find The Pool of Gvendur the good, a naturally warm geothermal outdoor swimming pool (32°C) and adjacent natural hot pool (42°C), perfect for relaxing after a long day on the road or hiking in the wilderness.

In Seljaland we offer accommodation for groups of 20-25. The old house takes up to 8 people and the three little cottages can fit 2-4 people per cottage.
A little restaurant that seats 25 people is located on these premises. Reservations must be made in advance.

A great place for small groups e.g. family gatherings, hiking groups or horse riding groups.
